11am–1pm and 2–4pm, daily. Most suitable for over 5s

This August, the National Gallery in partnership with Westminster City Council, will host Summer on the Square – a programme of free, daily creative sessions and activities to inspire you to create your own masterpieces.

All aboard for an arty adventure with Originary Arts!

Doodle, rip, cut and stick to make wild waves. Play with paper, texture, colour and collage to create your own striking seascape pictures to take home and contribute to a collaborative artwork.

On the 22 and 23 August, meet Captain Admirable Half Nelson and listen to tales of stormy seas and pirate antics while you sketch.

Inspired by the Take One Picture painting ‘A Shipwreck in Stormy Seas’ by Claude-Joseph Vernet.

This event is part of Summer on the Square.
